Don’t ruin a good today, by a bad yesterday

On the other hand, those who forget history are doomed to repeat it… So how do we keep conflicting idioms straight? Allowing us to stay in the moment and still learn from those moments for the benefit of our future self?
Well they don’t need to be mutually exclusive. Living in the present moment doesn’t preclude us from learning from our past or planning for the future ahead.
We only have enough attention, at any one moment, to focus on one thing at a time. Contrary to the notion that multitasking as a suprior skill set that all humans should harness and cherish. The point is that we only have the ability to be fully present at one time and at any one moment.
Happiness can only happen in the now. The hapiness of the past is just a good memory and the hapiness of the future is just a dream. Only reality is here, now and at this very moment.
Someone once told me, who swears by the idea, that you should treat your future self as a different person.
Look out for that person when you can. If you can do something to help your future self, do it. If it’s something that can’t be controlled like a big presentation or a serious doctors appointment. Then write a note for that future self that can remove some of the tension from that future experience. Something like, “I know…
