How I stopped procrastinating and started doing

In my 4 decades of life experience I have, unfortunately, concluded that work life can be hard. real hard. So I’ve developed a quick system that has helped me and might help you.

Some background

I studied Mathematics when I was in college and Computer Science in my masters program. I was very interested in it, in principle, but boy did I have to slog through some of those course. And I believe it was the same for most of my friends and fellow students. Mathematics was fun, especially in the practical application of linear algebra to computer science, but studying for a mathematics exam is most definitely not.

If you want to achieve something, however, you have to suffer though it. You have to make yourself suffer through it.

So what do you do?

You need to figure out how to set yourself up to get results. Many reasons top field graduates are so sought after by tech companies, is that academia forces certain qualities, like discipline, into you as an individual. Those same traits are invaluable to those companies.

Academia gives you a course structure with deadlines and often little guidance the higher up you go. Without those deadlines I may never have gotten the needed work done. Now, we don’t all have the luxury of getting more higher…
