My son keeps stealing my charger and it’s driving me crazy

For god sake. I just need it.

Yes, it’s a story about my son stealing a charger. Yes, I’m sure everyone is going to say I should just buy another, but I must have 40 iPhone chargers hidden somewhere in our house. What is a parent to do?

Just a little context

Everyday I get home from work and I want to kick back, relax just a little, watch a few videos on my phone that has been sitting idle in my work bag for the majority of the day. I think I have another charger, but it’s way upstairs and, anyway, I use that for when I go to sleep. So now, my iPhone sits at 3% and I want to charge it, but the charger is missing, again. Did I mention I must have bought 40 of these things?

The problem is my son has an iPad that seems to need to be powered every 30 minutes. It’s not a very old iPad, but it is old-ish. So, I’m constantly competing for the charger when I get home. I plug it into the wall in the morning and it’s gone by the time I reach for it in the evening. I don’t even like him playing on the iPad, so it’s not like I’m going to buy a new one just so it holds a charge.

And, yes, I can try and play the parent card, but it’s not a conversation I want to have at the end of the day. I just want to watch videos!

Plus, when I was growing up my parents constantly took away my original Nintendo or kicked me off our very ancient PC and then I became a developer of games. So… how do I know that his iPad usage won’t similarly land him in that future occupation? I mean it’s not, but it’s a wishful dream I have.

So, instead I switch to my laptop to write this story in frustration and, low and behold my power is running short on this one. Where is my charger for my personal laptop? Oh, my OTHER son has that one.

I honestly can’t win this.
