The Gangster: 1985 Edition playing cards emerged from my passion for Texas Hold’em

I always wanted to make my own cards for a tournament or a cash game with friends. To produce a deck that, when revealed at the impromptu round of poker, would make me proud.

I’ve worked tirelessly on the deck that exemplifies my love for Texas Hold’em, nostalgic illustrations, bright neon lights, and gangster movies. Now, I want to share some of the outcomes to you.

Card back design and the king of spades

The back design features gilded design with a gray background. The various shades and textures adds a sense of depth to the image. I love it and I hope you do too!

The boss and his “trusty” crew of lieutenants

Each suit has its own nuanced design, but still a playful set of artistic characteristics that really makes playing a hand an absolute joy.

I’m all-in on this hand. I’m hoping you will enjoy winning too

Honestly, I went all-out on this deck, even considering the tuck (box) design. Imagine pulling this deck out at a card game with friends.

Gangster style. Classy with just a hint of dangerous.
Beautiful styles that work well with each other.
Something special for the jokers in the deck

This is just a fun side project and a few days worth of effort, but I’d love to hear what you think in the comments!
